Quick answer: Smartwatch compatibility depends on the phone's actual software, Bluetooth behavior and companion-app support. Test the watch you intend to use with the iPhone 18 Pro Max copy before relying on calls or notifications.
Compatibility checklist
- Pair the watch.
- Install the required companion app.
- Test notifications.
- Check call or message functions where supported.
- Restart both devices and test reconnection.
Do not assume Apple Watch features work on a third-party phone, and do not assume Android-watch support without checking the specific software.
